SHOTA SHIMODE
Shota Shimode is a product designer who explores how products can connect contemporary life with the time and context embedded in materials. After completing his master’s degree at Tokyo Zokei University, he worked at a Swedish design firm, where he was involved in a wide range of projects including home appliances and public-sector initiatives. Moving between industrial production and craftsmanship, he reads the histories, technologies, and philosophies behind materials and reconstructs them into forms rooted in everyday life.
His work spans home appliances, furniture, lighting, and daily objects, ranging from mass-production design to R&D projects that include new material development. By engaging deeply with structure and manufacturing processes, he pursues forms that embody essential value, presenting his work internationally through exhibitions and showcases.
