Japan’s construction industry has produced an extraordinary range of building materials — a richness born from the scale and precision of domestic architecture. Aspect. takes that material directly into the home as furniture. The series comes in two constructions, each shaped by its material: metal versions are bent from sheet of uniform 1.5mm thickness, while wood versions in oak and teak are assembled from joined members. In both, the structural unit is reduced to its minimum, drawing out the inherent character of the material itself — the texture of metal, the warmth of timber — and letting it settle quietly into everyday living space.
